Planning to work remotely from sunny Spain? Hold up!
Spain has updated its Digital Nomad Visa income requirements for 2025. Let's break it down so you know exactly what you need to qualify.
Due to recent policy changes, the Spanish government has raised the minimum income requirement by 4.4% as of 2025. To be eligible for Spain's Digital Nomad Visa, you must demonstrate a monthly income of at least €1,763. This figure is based on 200% of Spain's minimum wage.
If you're bringing family members, the income requirements increase. Each additional family member adds approximately €346 to the monthly income requirement.
The biggest change is visa length. One of the most surprising things that happened when applying for this visa is that it was only approved for the length of the work assignment. If your contract has an end date, that's how long your visa will last — not a full year anymore. So, if your contract is for 4 months, that's all you get.
Spain is still one of the best places in Europe for digital nomads, but these changes could affect your plans. Stay informed, plan ahead, and hit subscribe for the latest updates on moving to Spain.
