Special Canada PR programs only for International students
This is a program through which international students and international graduates can very easily secure their Canadian PR.
So if a person fulfills these four requirements, then definitely, through this program, they can obtain their PNP.
So guys, in today’s time, if you are an international student inside Canada, or you are on your Post-Graduation Work Permit, or if in the future you are planning to come to Canada as a student, but you are very worried about Canadian PR—that everything looks extremely complicated and confusing, like how will I ever get my PR in Canada?—then this video is going to be very, very important for you.
Or if we say it in IELTS language, this news is going to be indispensable.
Why?
Because in this news, we will talk about those programs that are specifically for international students—either for PNP or for PR, or those programs where international students get some kind of benefit.
So the first program comes up—the one most people already know about, and most people get their Canadian PR through this program—which is the Express Entry System.
Basically, inside this system, everything depends on the CRS score.
If we are international students and we have Canadian education, we get extra points.
- If we complete a Master’s, PhD, or a Bachelor’s program of3 years or more in Canada, then we get 30 extra CRS points.
- If we complete a 2-year post-secondary program, like a diploma or certificate, then we get 15 extra CRS points.
So this is how international students benefit under Express Entry.
After that, the next program is AIP – Atlantic Immigration Program.
Basically, this program is a combined effort between the Canadian federal government and the four Atlantic provinces, which are:
- Nova Scotia
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- New Brunswick
- Prince Edward Island
So if you study in any one of these four provinces, graduate from a recognized institution, and at the same time secure a job offer from a designated employer, then through the Atlantic Immigration Program, you can get your Canadian PR.
This is a program through which international students and international graduates can very easily secure Canadian PR.
Now after this, let’s talk about a major province of Canada, which is Ontario.
Inside Ontario, there is a program called Employer Job Offer – International Student Stream.
Basically, this program is for recent graduates who have completed their studies from an eligible Canadian institution and have secured a full-time job in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 categories.
Such people can apply for Ontario PNP through this program and eventually apply for Canadian PR.
Apart from this, if you complete your Master’s or PhD from Ontario, there are specific streams for that as well.
PhD Graduate Stream
If a person completes a PhD from a publicly funded Ontario university, of at least two years, then after fulfilling the remaining requirements, they can apply under this Ontario PNP stream.
The remaining requirements include:
- Intention to live and work in Ontario
- If applying from inside Canada, you must be legally present in Canada, or you can apply from outside
- The main requirement: you must apply within 2 years of completing your PhD
Master’s Graduate Stream
If a person completes a Master’s degree from a publicly funded Ontario university, and the program was at least one year long, then after fulfilling the remaining requirements, they can apply under this stream.
The remaining requirements are:
- Proof of English or French proficiency (at least CLB 7)
- Must have lived in Ontario for at least one year in the last two years
- Must have sufficient settlement funds
- Intention to live and work in Ontario
- If applying from inside Ontario, must be legally present, or can apply from abroad
- Application must be submitted within 2 years of completing the Master’s degree
After that, we move to a very beautiful province called Quebec.
In Quebec, there is a program called the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), which is a fast-track immigration program for international students.
Through this program, people can get Quebec PNP and eventually Canadian PR.
But you must fulfill some specific requirements:
- In the last 36 months, you must have completed a recognized diploma, degree, or certificate from a designated Quebec institution
- At least half of your program duration must have been studied inside Quebec
- Since it is Quebec, French is mandatory—you must prove B2-level French proficiency
- You must show intention to live, work, and settle in Quebec
After that, we come to British Columbia.
Unfortunately, at the moment, all international-student-specific PNP streams in British Columbia are closed.
So if you are an international student in BC and want PR, there is no special advantage currently. You must apply through general PNP or PR programs.
Next is another beautiful province, Alberta.
In Alberta, there is a stream called the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
If someone studied in Alberta and is on a Post-Graduation Work Permit, they can apply for Alberta PNP, but they must meet some requirements:
- At least 6 months of full-time work experience in Alberta within the last 18 months
- The job must be related to the field of study
- The candidate must have an Alberta-approved credential from an Alberta institution
Then comes the Alberta Graduate Entrepreneur Stream.
This stream helps international students who studied in Alberta and want to start or buy a business in Alberta.
Requirements include:
- At least 2 years of full-time education in Alberta
- A degree or diploma from a designated post-secondary institution
- A valid PGWP at the time of submitting Expression of Interest
- At least CLB 7 language score
- Must start a new business or buy an existing one with minimum 34% ownership
- The business must not be on the ineligible business list
If these requirements are fulfilled, the candidate can get Alberta PNP.
Next province is Saskatchewan, currently one of the most affordable provinces in Canada.
Under the Saskatchewan Experience Category, international students who study in Saskatchewan get significant benefits.
Requirements:
- Certificate, diploma, or degree from a designated learning institution in Saskatchewan
- A valid PGWP
- At least 6 months (780 hours) of paid work experience in Saskatchewan related to the field of study
- A permanent full-time job offer from an approved Saskatchewan employer

It has three pathways:

Through this, Manitoba PNP and eventually Canadian PR can be obtained.
Now we come to the four Atlantic provinces again:
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Prince Edward Island
All four fall under the Atlantic Immigration Program.
Prince Edward Island has no specific international student stream beyond AIP.
Nova Scotia
Apart from AIP, Nova Scotia has its own Nominee Program with two international student pathways:
- International Graduates in Demand – for healthcare and education occupations
- International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – similar to Alberta and Manitoba, requiring:
- At least 2 years of education in Nova Scotia
- 33.3% business ownership
- One year of continuous business operation
- Valid PGWP
- CLB 7 language score
Newfoundland and Labrador
Apart from AIP, it has:
- International Graduate Stream
- International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Both require local education, job offers or business ownership, language proficiency, and intention to settle.
New Brunswick
Apart from AIP, there is a special program called the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot.
Key requirements:
- Strong intent to reside in New Brunswick
- A non-seasonal full-time job related to the field of study within 90 days of graduation
- Competitive wage
- Minimum 10-month eligible program from an approved college
