Why Estonia?
Known as the “land of unicorns” and home to globally recognized companies such as Skype, Wise, Pipedrive, and Bolt, Estonia has become one of Europe’s leading hubs for innovation, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship. The country offers:
- Advanced digital infrastructure
- A strong start-up ecosystem
- Low-hierarchy work culture
- High quality of life
- Access to international talent
With World Immigration Hub, you can confidently navigate Estonia’s immigration requirements while focusing on growing your business.
EU Citizens
If you are a citizen of the EU, EEA, or Swiss Confederation, you may stay in Estonia for up to three months with a valid travel document or ID card.
For longer stays, you must register your residence in the Estonian Population Register.
Our consultants assist EU nationals and their employees in completing all registration requirements for extended stays.
Non-EU Citizens
Citizens of non-EU countries may relocate to Estonia on the basis of:
- Visa-free entry (where applicable)
- A valid visa
- A temporary or long-term residence permit
A temporary residence permit allows you to live and, in most cases, work in Estonia. It is usually granted for up to five years.
At World Immigration Hub, we evaluate your case and identify the most suitable route:
- Residence Permit for Company Shareholders
- Residence Permit for Start-up Business
- Residence Permit for Major Investors
For employees, we provide assistance with:
- Residence Permit for Employment
- Start-up Visa Programs
Employment Options
Short-Term Employment
For assignments lasting up to 365 days in a 455-day period, foreign workers must be registered with the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board. Registration is typically processed within 15 working days.
Our consultants ensure accurate registration and compliance for all short-term employment cases.
Residence Permit for Employment
If employment will exceed the limits of visa-free or short-term arrangements, a residence permit for employment is required. Conditions generally include:
- Meeting the salary threshold (usually at least Estonia’s average annual wage)
- Receiving approval from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund
- Remaining within Estonia’s immigration quota
At World Immigration Hub, we prepare applications, coordinate with authorities, and advise employers on compliance with salary and labor market rules.
The Start-up Visa Advantage
Estonia’s Start-up Visa program provides a simplified pathway for innovative businesses and global talent. Benefits include:
- No obligation to meet the national salary requirement
- Exemption from immigration quotas
- No need for approval from the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund
- Simplified requirements for company capital
Our start-up specialists at World Immigration Hub support both founders and employees through every stage of the process, from securing start-up committee approval to obtaining residency.
Support for Foreign Talent & Families
Estonia actively welcomes international professionals, and the number of expats has more than doubled in the past five years. Employers benefit from:
- Access to Work in Estonia, a national program connecting companies with global talent
- Relocation support through International House of Estonia and the Settle in Estonia program
- Assistance from private relocation service providers
At World Immigration Hub, we coordinate these resources on your behalf while also providing personalized consultations for relocating family members.
